Case Studies on Your Website: The Most Persuasive Page You Are Not Writing
Ask a buyer what almost convinced them, and they rarely say the homepage. They say some version of "I saw you had done this before, for someone like me". That is what case studies on your website do, and almost no Nepali business writes them. Testimonials say the vendor is nice. A case study proves the vendor solved a specific, expensive problem, with evidence. It is the most persuasive page type in web design, and the least used one.
Why case studies outsell testimonials
A testimonial is a compliment with a name attached. Useful, but generic praise slides off a skeptical reader. A case study is a story with stakes: here was the situation, here is what we did, here is what changed, in numbers. Stories get remembered and retold, which matters in Nepal where the real sales channel is one manager telling another over milk tea. And because a case study is specific, it is believable in a way that "excellent service, highly recommended" never will be.
The four-part structure that always works
- The client and their problem. One paragraph. Industry, size, and the pain in concrete terms: "a Pokhara hotel getting 90 percent of bookings through commission-charging OTAs".
- What you did. The approach and the key decisions, in plain language. Skip the jargon; keep the judgement calls, they show expertise.
- The result, with numbers. "Direct bookings went from 10 to 34 percent in six months, saving roughly NPR 8 lakh a year in commissions." One honest number beats five adjectives.
- One quote from the client. Now the testimonial lands, because the story earned it.
Keep it to 400 to 700 words. This is evidence, not a novel.
Getting permission without awkwardness
Nepali clients often hesitate to be named, sometimes for tax visibility reasons, sometimes plain shyness. Ask at the moment of maximum happiness, right after the good result, not months later. Offer to anonymise: "a manufacturing company in Bhairahawa" still persuades if the numbers are real. Show them the draft before publishing and let them veto anything. In our experience about half say yes to full names, and half-anonymous is still miles ahead of no case study at all.

Three is the working minimum, covering your main service lines or client types. A dozen is plenty. Give them a section of their own ("Our Work" or "Client Results"), but do not let them sit there alone: link the relevant case study from each service page, quote its headline number on the homepage, and send it to prospects mid-negotiation. A case study emailed the evening after a sales meeting, "this hotel had the same issue, here is what happened", closes deals. The page works hardest off the website.
Write it in an afternoon, honestly
The excuse is always time. But you already know the story; the discipline is writing the before-number and the after-number truthfully, including what was hard. One sentence of honesty, "the first month was slow while staff adjusted", raises the credibility of every claim around it. Readers can smell a puff piece. What they cannot resist is a specific, slightly imperfect, verifiable story about someone like them.
Building case studies into your website properly
When WebsNP designs business websites in Kathmandu, we build a case-study template into the site: consistent layout, result-number highlights, client quote block, and a call to action at the end of each story, so adding your next one is a form, not a project. Case study pages also earn long-tail Google traffic ("hotel direct booking Nepal") that a services page never catches. Fixed-price quote within 24 hours, delivered in days, first year of hosting free. Write the first story. It will outsell your homepage.
