Contact Page Design Done Right: Maps, Hours and Every Channel That Matters

Nobody lands on a contact page by accident. Whoever opens it has already decided to reach you, which means contact page design has the easiest job in web design and fails at it remarkably often. A lone form with no phone number. An address with no map. Office hours nowhere to be found. Each gap loses a customer who was one step from converting. The design goal is blunt: let every visitor contact you through the channel they prefer, with zero hunting.

List every channel, and let people pick

Different customers reach out differently, and in Nepal the spread is wide. Older customers call. Younger ones message on Viber or WhatsApp. Overseas clients email or use the form across time zones. So the page shows all of it: phone number as a tap-to-call link, WhatsApp and Viber buttons that open a chat directly, email as a clickable address, and the form. Don't force your preference on customers; the business that answers on the customer's channel wins the enquiry. One caution: only list channels you actually monitor. A dead messenger button is worse than none.

Embed the map, don't just write the address

"Near Bhatbhateni, Naxal" means something to locals and nothing to everyone else. Embed a live Google Map pinned to your exact location so visitors can tap and navigate; in Kathmandu's unnamed-street reality, that pin is the address. Add a landmark line anyway ("opposite the Standard Chartered branch, 2nd floor") because that's how directions are really given here. And claim your Google Business Profile so the pin, photos and reviews all agree with the website. If you serve customers at their location instead, say so plainly: "We come to you, anywhere inside Ring Road."

Publish honest hours, including the exceptions

Opening hours prevent the most annoying failed contact there is: the customer who calls at the wrong time twice and gives up. Publish your real days and hours, note the weekly off day, and during Dashain and Tihar put a temporary banner with holiday dates; every year we watch businesses lose weeks of enquiries to an unannounced festival closure. If channels have different hours, say so: "Calls 10 to 6, WhatsApp until 9 pm, form anytime with replies within one business day". Then honour what you publish. The hours are a small promise, and keeping small promises is how websites build trust.

Layout: contact info first, form second

A clean structure that works on nearly every business site: page title, then the direct channels (call, WhatsApp, Viber, email) as large tappable buttons, then the map with address and hours beside it, then a short form (name, phone or email, message, nothing more) for people who prefer writing. On mobile, the call and chat buttons belong at the top, in easy thumb reach, since mobile visitors overwhelmingly want to talk, not type. Add one line of expectation-setting under the form: "We reply within one business day." That sentence alone measurably reduces the double-and-triple enquiries from people wondering if the first one vanished.

The details that separate good from sloppy

Final checks worth ten minutes: the phone number actually dials when tapped, the form notification email arrives (test it monthly, they break silently), the map pin sits on the correct building, and the page loads fast even though it carries an embedded map, which means lazy-loading the map so it doesn't drag the whole page. If you have two branches, give each its own map and hours block instead of one confusing combined blob.

Every WebsNP website ships with a contact page built to this checklist, tested end to end before launch: tap-to-call, chat buttons, pinned map, working form with spam protection. If your current contact page is a lonely form floating in white space, that's the fastest fix on your whole site. Fixed-price quote within 24 hours, most sites delivered in 2 to 7 days.
