Google AI Plus vs AI Pro vs AI Ultra: which plan makes sense in Nepal?

Google AI Plus suits light, steady use

Double the free limits and 400 GB is a sensible upgrade for someone whose complaint is "it keeps telling me to wait" rather than "it cannot read my document". The 128,000-token context handles a long chapter or a set of meeting notes, not a full thesis. At 200 Flow credits a month you get two Veo Quality clips, which is enough to experiment and not enough to produce anything on a schedule.

Good fit: a Lok Sewa aspirant using Gemini daily for study questions, a shop owner writing product descriptions, anyone whose Google storage is the actual problem and 400 GB solves it.

Google AI Pro suits people producing work

The jump from 128,000 tokens to a million is the reason most people move up. It is the difference between summarising a section and analysing a whole tender document, a semester of PDFs or a year of accounts in one go. Add Gemini Notebook's Pro limits, longer video and audio uploads, the Nano Banana Pro image model and 1,000 Flow credits, and it becomes a working tool rather than a better chatbot.

Good fit: a trekking channel producing B-roll, an education consultancy in Putalisadak handling long documents, a freelance designer making client visuals, a postgraduate researcher reading widely. It is also the only tier with a rupee route, which for many people settles the question.

Google AI Ultra suits full-time AI production

Ultra is priced for studios and heavy technical users. The credit allowance alone, 10,000 or 25,000 a month against Pro's 1,000, changes what is possible in Flow: cheaper per-clip costs, 4K upscaling and enough headroom to iterate on a commercial project. Deep Think, Project Genie and Project Mariner sit here too, and Deep Research's visual charts are Ultra only.

Good fit: someone whose income depends on generated video every week. For everyone else the maths does not work, and the money is better spent on the smaller plan plus top-up credits when a project needs them.

Buying each one from Nepal

All three are Google products bought with a Google account, but the payment routes differ.

• AI Plus and AI Ultra: buy from Google, in US dollars, with a card your bank has enabled for international online payments. There is no rupee route for these.
• AI Pro: either the same card route at $19.99 a month, or a rupee payment through WebsNP@if($aiPro['product']) at $1.06 a month, charged once as $19.07 for 18 months@endif. The subscription goes on your own Google account either way. The full comparison is on the price page.

Whichever you choose, Google treats storage plan purchases as non-refundable in most countries, so settle the tier before you pay rather than after.

The student offer changes the answer for some people

Google runs a student offer that has to be read carefully, because the plan you get depends on where you are. Students in the United States get one year of Google AI Pro free. Students outside the United States, in what Google describes as over 140 markets, get one year of Google AI Plus instead, not Pro. The offer must be redeemed by 31 December 2026, a payment method is required and it auto-renews afterwards.

Nepal is not named either way in Google's announcement, so check the offer page with your own student email before assuming anything. If you qualify, a free year of Plus is clearly better value than paying for it. If none of the three fits

Two common cases point elsewhere. If your problem is storage rather than AI, compare the plans on the 5 TB storage page, where a smaller Google One plan may be the cheaper answer.
