Software for temples, guthis and religious trusts in Nepal

Keep donations, puja bookings, land rent and committee accounts in one clear record that every trustee can read and the auditor can trust.

A temple or guthi usually runs on goodwill, a few notebooks and one person who remembers everything. That works until that person is away, a new committee takes over or the audit date arrives. WebsNP builds temple, guthi and trust software that turns those notebooks into a single set of records: who gave what, which puja was booked, which tenant owes rent and where every rupee went.

The system is designed around how Nepali religious bodies actually work. Donations arrive as cash, cheque, QR transfers and offerings in kind. Land and rooms are let out on old terms. Festivals bring a rush of bookings, and the committee changes every few years. Our donation software and the temple module share the same receipt and ledger engine.

Every trust has its own deed, constitution and local-level rules, so we do not push a fixed template. We configure heads of account, receipt books, approval steps and reports to match your own rules, show you a demo on your data, and give a quote afterwards. Who Temple, Guthi and Trust Software is for

Temple management committees

Committees that collect daily donations, sell puja tickets and need a clean statement for each monthly meeting.

Guthi and family trusts

Trusts that hold land, buildings or rented shops and must track rent, arrears and jatra or festival expenses.

Monasteries, gumbas and churches

Religious bodies that depend on community and overseas donors and need receipts and fund-wise reports.

Dharmashala and ashram committees

Rest houses and ashrams that record guest stays, donations and the running costs of meals and upkeep.

Treasurers and auditors

The people who inherit the books each year and want a trail they can follow without chasing the previous treasurer.

Problems it solves

The problem todayHow the software fixes it
Donations are written in a notebook and receipts do not match the bookNumbered digital receipts are saved the moment they are issued, so the receipt and the ledger entry are always the same record.
Nobody knows which tenant of guthi land or rooms has paid this yearEach tenant has an agreement record, a rent schedule and an arrears balance that shows at a glance.
Festival puja bookings clash or are forgottenA booking calendar lists each puja, date, family and priest, and prints a daily list for the temple staff.
Restricted funds get mixed with general fundsDonations can be tagged to a purpose such as renovation or annadan, with a separate balance and report for each fund.
The new committee cannot understand the old booksRecords are kept by Bikram Sambat date, account head and user, so a handover is a login and not a box of registers.
Audit preparation takes weeks of copying figuresTrial balance, income and expenditure, receipts and payments and fund statements are produced in one click for any period.

Built for how Nepal works

Bikram Sambat first

Dates, fiscal year starting in Shrawan and festival calendars are handled in BS, with the English date kept alongside where the bank or a donor needs it.

Cash, cheque and QR together

Gifts arrive by cash in the box, bank deposit and mobile wallet or QR. The system can be set up to record each mode separately so the cash book and bank statement reconcile.

Deed and local-level rules come first

Registration with the district or local body, Guthi Sansthan rules where they apply and your own constitution decide what you must record. We configure the software to follow them and you confirm the rules with the relevant office.

Works through load-shedding and weak internet

Receipts can be issued from a simple screen on a phone or desktop, and the committee office is not tied to a single machine.

How we get you started

  1. Talk on WhatsApp or a call Tell us what you run, how you record gifts and rent today and what the auditor asks for.
  2. See a demo with your own heads We set up sample donation heads, fund names and a few tenants so you see your temple, not a generic screen.
  3. Quote and agreed scope You receive a written quote for exactly the modules you need. Prices come from the demo and quote, not a public list.
  4. Move your old records We help enter opening balances, tenant lists and land details from your registers, checked with your treasurer.
  5. Train and go live Counter staff and the treasurer are trained, receipts start from a clear date and support stays on WhatsApp.
Need it changed to fit you? Account heads, receipt wording, languages, fund rules and reports are all configured for your own trust. Tell us the rules in your deed and we will build around them. See custom software development.

Guides: Temple, Guthi and Trust Software

Frequently asked questions

Can the software issue receipts in Nepali?

Yes, receipts can be set up with Nepali text, a BS date and your temple name and logo. The language and layout are chosen when we configure your account, so the receipt looks like the one your donors already know.

Can we keep separate funds for renovation and daily expenses?

Yes. Donations can be tagged to a purpose and each fund keeps its own balance and statement. Transfers between funds are recorded as entries with a reason, so restricted gifts are not quietly spent on running costs.

Does it handle rent from guthi land and shops?

It keeps a tenant record, the agreement terms you enter, a rent schedule and every payment received. The arrears report shows who has not paid and for which period. The terms themselves follow your own agreements and local rules.

Is it only for temples?

No. The same system is used by guthis, trusts, gumbas, churches, dharmashalas and ashrams. We set the vocabulary and heads of account to match your institution, so a gumba does not see puja screens it does not need.

Can our overseas donors get receipts?

Receipts can be emailed or sent on WhatsApp as a PDF. Whether a receipt qualifies for any tax treatment abroad depends on that country and your registration, so donors should confirm with their own tax office.

What happens when the committee changes?

Records stay in the system with the date and the user who made each entry. The new treasurer receives a login with the right permissions and sees full history, instead of receiving closed registers.

Do we need an internet connection all the time?

The software is hosted online, so it needs a connection to save entries. It works from a phone, tablet or computer, so a committee member can use mobile data if the office line is down.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the modules, number of users and how much old data we enter. We give the price after a demo and a short discussion, in writing, with no hidden extras.
