Schools, colleges and training
Library Management Software for Schools, Colleges and Communities
Catalogue your books, register members, issue and return with due dates, calculate fines and see what is lost or overdue, in Nepali and English.
Libraries in Nepal range from a school cupboard with a few hundred donated books to a college library with thousands of titles and a daily queue at the issue counter. The common problem is the same everywhere: the accession register, the issue register and the member list are separate notebooks, books go missing without anyone noticing, and nobody can quickly say who has a particular book.
Library management software from WebsNP gives each book a record and each member a card. Issuing a book takes seconds, the due date is calculated automatically, overdue lists are one click away and fines are worked out by the rules you set. A school library can link to our school management software so students are already in the member list.
We quote after a demo and a short talk about your collection, members and counters. There is no published price list. Message us on WhatsApp on +977 9846280400 to see a library running on real sample data.
Who Library Management Software is for
School libraries
Schools where a teacher or librarian wants class-wise issue records and fewer lost books.
College and campus libraries
Libraries with textbooks, reference books, journals, theses and many members issuing daily.
Community and public libraries
Reading rooms, ward libraries and club libraries that serve neighbours and need simple membership.
Institute and organisation libraries
Training institutes, NGOs and offices that keep a resource collection for staff and trainees.
Librarians and assistants
The people who currently write every issue in a register and search shelves for missing books.
Problems it solves
| The problem today | How the software fixes it |
|---|---|
| Nobody knows who currently holds a book. | Every issue is recorded against a member and a due date, so a book search shows its status at once. |
| Overdue books are found only during stock taking. | A daily or weekly overdue list shows who to remind, and reminders can go by SMS. |
| Fines are calculated by hand and often waived inconsistently. | Fine rules are set once, calculated automatically and any waiver is recorded with a reason. |
| Finding a book by title, author or subject means checking the register page by page. | Search by title, author, subject, accession number or ISBN returns results with shelf location. |
| Lost and damaged books are not tracked, so the collection shrinks quietly. | Book status can be marked lost, damaged or withdrawn, and stock reports show what is missing. |
| New books are added slowly because every entry needs writing in the register. | Books are entered once, labels and barcodes can be printed, and bulk entry from a sheet is possible. |

Bikram Sambat dates
Issue dates, due dates and reports can be shown in Nepali dates, which suits school and community libraries.
Donated and mixed collections
Many libraries grow through donations, so the catalogue records source and condition without needing a purchase price.
Small, low-power setups
A single counter computer can run the library, and we can discuss local installation for places with unreliable internet or load-shedding.
Community use
Ward, club and community libraries can run with simple membership, light fees and basic reporting for a committee.

Guides: Library Management Software
How to Choose Library Management Software in Nepal
A library system should make the counter faster and the collection safer. Here is what to test before choosing software for a Nepali library.

A register is free to start but can cost a library its books. See how to compare it fairly with software using your own numbers.

Do we need barcodes?
No. Barcodes and a scanner make counters faster for larger libraries, but a small library can issue by typing the accession number. You can add barcodes later without re-entering the books.
Can we import our existing book list?
Yes, if you have it in Excel or a similar sheet we can import it after checking columns. If it is only in a register, it must be typed into a sheet first, and we can advise on the format.
Can it handle Nepali book titles?
Yes. Titles and authors can be entered in Nepali or English and searched in either. We show this during the demo with a few sample records.
How are fines calculated?
You set a fine per day by member category, with optional grace days and a maximum. The system calculates the amount at return, and any waiver is recorded with a reason.
Can students be loaded from our school or college records?
If you also use our school or college system, the same student list is used. Otherwise we can import a student sheet. Member categories then decide issue limits and loan periods.
Can it work without internet?
A local installation on the library computer can work without internet. We discuss hosting and backup options during the demo, based on your situation.
Can it track lost books?
Yes. A book can be marked lost, damaged or withdrawn, and a lost book charge can be added to the member account. Stock taking reports list items not found.
What does it cost?
We give a quote after a demo, based on the size of the collection, the number of users and modules, and any hardware such as a scanner or label printer.
