Import and Export Software for Shipments, LC Records and Landed Cost
Keep every shipment, LC, supplier payment and cost line in one place, and see the true landed cost of each consignment before you set a price.
An importer in Nepal juggles a long chain: a proforma invoice, an LC or advance payment, a shipment in transit, a clearing agent, duties and charges, and finally stock arriving in the godown. Each step produces paper and numbers, and the real cost of the goods is only known when all of them are added together.
WebsNP import and export software is a record-keeping system for this chain. You create a shipment, attach the supplier, LC details, invoice values in foreign currency and each cost line, and the software calculates the landed cost per unit using the duty and charge figures that you or your agent enter.
It does not decide customs rules or duty rates; those come from the authorities and your clearing agent. What it does is stop costs from being lost in notebooks and spreadsheets, so you price on the real figure and can answer the bank, the auditor or your partner. See the product page or ask for a demo.
Who Import and Export Software is for
Importers and traders
Businesses buying goods such as electronics, machinery, fabric, spare parts or food items from abroad and reselling in Nepal.
Exporters of Nepali goods
Sellers of handicrafts, tea, herbs, carpets or processed goods who track buyers, shipments and receipts in foreign currency.
Wholesalers who import part of their stock
Distributors who buy some lines locally and some directly from foreign suppliers and need one stock record for both.
Finance and accounts staff
Teams who must reconcile LC margins, bank charges and foreign supplier balances at month end.
Owners of small trading companies
Owners who currently manage everything in spreadsheets and want a safer, shared record.
Problems it solves
| The problem today | How the software fixes it |
|---|---|
| Landed cost is guessed, so prices are set too low | Every shipment collects its cost lines: invoice value, freight, insurance, duty inputs, clearing and transport. The software divides them across items to give a landed cost per unit. |
| LC details live in files and emails | LC number, bank, amount, margin, opening date, expiry and shipment deadline are stored per shipment with reminders for key dates. |
| Foreign supplier balances do not match their statements | A ledger per supplier in the invoice currency shows invoices, payments and balance, with the rate used on each date. |
| Nobody knows where a shipment is | Each shipment carries a status such as ordered, shipped, in transit, at border or port, cleared and received, with dates and notes. |
| Exchange rate changes distort margins | You record the rate used at each payment and see the cost in NPR at that rate, so margin reports reflect what you really paid. |
| Documents are hard to find during audit or clearing | Invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and agent bills can be attached to each shipment record. |
| Stock arrives in parts and is hard to reconcile | Partial receipts are matched to the shipment, so shortages and damages are visible against what was invoiced. |

Built for how Nepal works
Cost lines follow your agent's bills
Duty and tax amounts depend on the item classification and rules at the time. The software holds the figures you enter from the clearance documents and does not state rates or procedure itself.
LC and bank records
Importers often work through LCs, margins and bank charges. The software keeps these details together for each shipment so reconciling with the bank statement is simpler.
VAT at 13% on local sales
Once goods are cleared, local sales bills can show VAT at 13% where it applies. Confirm your registration and treatment with your accountant.
Bikram Sambat and fiscal year
Reports can be run by Nepali dates and by fiscal year starting in Shrawan, which matches how you close your books.
Long transit and delays
Goods for Nepal often travel through border or port routes and wait in transit. Status and date tracking help you see delays and plan stock.

Does the software state customs duty rates?
No. Duty and tax amounts depend on the rules in force, and you or your clearing agent enter the figures from the official documents. The software allocates what you enter and keeps a record.
Can it track letters of credit?
It records LC details per shipment: number, bank, amount, margin, dates and status, with reminders for expiry. It is a record-keeping aid and does not connect to your bank or open an LC.
How does the landed cost work?
You add the invoice value and each extra cost to a shipment. The software spreads those costs across items by value, weight or quantity, as you choose, and gives a cost per unit.
Can I work in more than one currency?
Yes. Invoices and payments can be recorded in the supplier currency with the NPR value at the rate you enter, so ledgers show both amounts.
Can I attach documents?
Yes. You can attach invoices, packing lists, transport documents and agent bills to each shipment so they are easy to find later.
Does it support exports?
Yes. You can record export orders, invoices, shipment dates and payments received. Export documentation requirements should be confirmed with the relevant authorities and your forwarder.
Does it include stock and sales billing?
Yes. Received goods go into stock at landed cost, and local sales can be billed with VAT at 13% where it applies, giving margin per item.
How is the price decided?
It depends on users, modules and customisation such as cost heads and reports. We give a quote after a demo and a short discussion of your trade.
