Jewellery Shop Software Built Around Tola, Lal and Making Charges

Bill gold and silver in the weights you already use, track every ornament by tag, and keep old gold exchange and karigar issues in one clear record.

A jewellery counter in Nepal does not work like an ordinary shop. Weight is counted in tola, aana and lal, the price changes with the day's gold and silver rate, and every bill mixes metal value, making charge, wastage, stone and VAT. Doing this by hand on a calculator is slow and one slip costs real money.

WebsNP jewellery shop software keeps each ornament as a tagged item with its gross weight, stone weight, net weight and purity. At billing, the shop enters the day's rate and the software works out the metal value, making charge and tax for you, so the customer gets a clean printed bill in a minute.

It also handles what a plain billing program cannot: old gold taken in exchange, karigar metal issued and returned, advance bookings for weddings and a daily stock tally by weight. We set it up around how your shop counts, so you can see a demo on your own sample items before deciding.

Problems it solves

The problem todayHow the software fixes it
Converting tola, aana and lal by hand causes billing mistakesEnter weight in the unit you use and the software converts and prices it. The conversion is set up to match your shop and checked against your scale.
The daily gold rate changes and old prices are used by accidentThe shop types in the day's gold and silver rate each morning. Every bill uses that rate and shows it, so nobody quotes yesterday's price.
Making charge and wastage are calculated differently by each staff memberMaking charge and wastage are set per item or per category as a percentage, per gram or per tola, so every salesperson applies the same rule.
Old gold exchange is written in a notebook and later disputedEach exchange is recorded with weight, purity test result, deduction and the value credited on the new bill, with the customer name and date.
Stock is counted by eye and small losses go unnoticedEvery ornament has a tag with weight. A daily stock report by weight and category can be compared with what is physically in the showcase and safe.
Karigar metal issued cannot be reconciledIssue and return entries per karigar show gold given, finished items received, wastage allowed and the balance still with the worker.
Advance and booking orders get forgottenOrder bookings record advance paid, promised date and design notes, and show a pending list so you can call customers on time.

Built for how Nepal works

Tola-based counting

Nepali jewellers count by tola, aana and lal rather than only grams. The software is set up to your shop's own conversion and we verify it against your scale during setup.

VAT at 13%

Bills can show VAT at 13% on the parts that your accountant tells you are taxable. How VAT applies to metal value and making charge should be confirmed with your tax adviser and set once.

Bikram Sambat dates

Bills, bookings and reports use Nepali dates and the Shrawan-start fiscal year, so year-end stock and sales reports line up with your books.

Festival and wedding season

Dashain, Tihar, Teej and the wedding months bring the heaviest rush. Order booking and quick billing are designed so the counter does not slow down.

Power cuts and local use

The software can run on a local computer at the counter, so billing continues when the internet drops. Data is backed up when the connection returns.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with tola, aana and lal?

Yes. Weight can be entered and printed in tola, aana, lal and ratti as well as grams. We set the conversion to match how your shop counts and test it against your scale before you go live.

Can I enter the daily gold and silver rate myself?

Yes. The shop enters the rate each day for each purity. Bills use that rate and print it, so the price is clear to the customer. We do not supply or quote market rates.

How are making charge and wastage handled?

You can set them as a percentage, per gram or per tola, for each item or category. The bill shows each part separately, or combined if you prefer to show a single figure.

Can I record old gold exchange?

Yes. You enter the weight received, the test result and any deduction. The value is credited on the new bill and the record is kept with the customer and date.

Does it support hallmark records?

You can store a hallmark number or mark against each item and print it on the tag or bill. What hallmarking rules apply to your shop is for you to confirm with the relevant standards body.

Can it track karigar work?

Yes. You record metal issued, finished pieces returned and wastage allowed for each karigar, and the report shows what balance is still with them.

Will it work if the internet is down?

It can be set up to run on a local computer at the counter so billing continues offline, then back up your data when the connection returns.

How much does it cost?

The price depends on the number of counters, users and any custom bill or tag format. We give a quote after a short demo and a few questions about your shop.
